Frequently asked questions
The useful answers, up front.
Who can see my journal and rival notes?
Only you. When the challenger and partner names identify registered players, the session result can automatically become league evidence. Your note, focus, video, and scouting observations stay private.
Does BreakPoint track my location?
No GPS or background tracking is used. You type the city, postal area, courts, and travel cities you want used for matching. Exact postal codes and full travel-city lists are not shown on public cards.
Can I find players while visiting another city?
Yes. Add the city and state to “Cities you’d travel to” on your playing card. Find Players will include visible players based there, even if they haven’t added your home city. You can filter by that destination and send an Ask to hit invitation. Remove the destination when you no longer want it included. Hidden profiles and blocks still apply.
Can I track a rival who does not use BreakPoint?
Yes. A manual rival card stays private. If that person later joins, you can explicitly link the card to their exact profile; names are never linked automatically.
How do league points work?
Once you join a league, eligible captures with other participating league players count automatically—no extra confirmation form. Standard wins award up to 100 points, losses 25, and tournament rounds 150/75. Solo practice counts for singles league members. Practice and rally earn 10 points each for the first five combined activities per week, including solo practice. Repeated matchups decay, and playing at least 1.0 level down caps a standard win at 50. Unregistered or ambiguous names do not receive league credit.
Do I have to join a league?
No. Repeat play can form a league and trigger an invitation explaining why. Choose Join league or Not now. Until you join, you are not included in its rankings. You can reconsider on the League page; declining does not affect your journal or finding players. Existing league memberships are retained.
Can leagues merge without our permission?
No. Enough repeat play between nearby leagues opens a merge proposal. More than 50% of each league’s eligible players must agree separately; a tie, silence, or a combined majority is not enough. Each original electorate is set when the proposal opens. The leagues stay separate until both pass, and a successful merge preserves earned points and history.
Why is a note waiting to sync?
BreakPoint keeps a recoverable device copy when a connection is interrupted and retries after your account session returns. If the note remains pending, use Retry and then contact support with the approximate time and browser used.
What happens when I block someone?
You and the blocked player disappear from one another’s Find Players results. Blocking does not erase your private historical notes or silently file a report.
Can I download or delete my data?
Yes. Open Preferences, then Account & sync. Export downloads a JSON copy. Deletion erases private content and hides the profile immediately; anonymized confirmed league history may remain.
